If you choose to travel with your dog or cat, please remember to make sure your pet has current identification with your up-to-date phone number and address. Check if you are leaving the country that you have the required paper work and pet passport and copies of records to prove the animal has had all his shots.
Always Include a current photo and vaccination certificates with your travel documents. Also take with you some photos for lost and found posters.
Many people loose there pet in unfamiliar locations. Such as Petrol stations, often the dog or cat escapes and runs amok and the owner cant find or catch it. Sometimes the simply don’t notice.
So have some pictures ready so you can arrange to have a poster made. Cyber cafes or friendly local business might be able to help you make poster. time is if the essence in finding a pet. Remember to contact local police and pounds or animal welfare charities.
Preparation:
- Always keep your pet on a leash or in travel cage, even in the car, and write your phone number (with area code) and address inside your pet's collar.
- Take plenty of water and plan for regular travel stops every 1-2 hours.
- Do not let your pet travel with his head out the window or in the back of an open vehicle. There is a high risk for injury from flying objects or insects, lung damage, choking not to mention pollutants.
If you have your pet lodge with Kosy Kennels there are some things to remember.
Your pet's health, comfort and safety is our always our utmost priority.
To insure that your pet stays healthy and happy at Kosy Kennels, proof of vaccinations is required. No animal can be boarded with out this. This is to make sure you pet and others remain healthy. No concessions will be granted.
We will provide toys, exercise, bedding and pampering. How ever if you wish you can bring a selection of familiar toys for your pet. Please make sure these are washed and clean before you bring them in to our environment. Your dog or cat may well be used to used to the toys but they can contain bacteria and pathogens that other animals may not have resistance to.
So again please ensure they are cleaned.
A permanent record of your pet's requirements for care will be kept while in our charge, and we will fully comply with any special instructions or needs while you are away. You can always call us for updates.
